I took this photograph a long time ago when we lived in Chambersburg, PA. I had a friend who wanted to feature my photographs in a show. I remember there was a man who loved this photo. He studied it over and over, but he wouldn’t buy it because he thought it would be unmanly. I felt bad for him because I knew he would think of it forever and wish he had bought it anyway.
Beverly Read was born and raised in the northern part of California, US. She grew up on a farm and early learned to ride horses and milk cows. In the early 1960's she graduated high school and went on to a year of college before going to work. She married and had two children. Later she lived in other parts of the US, but in 1984 returned to California. She currently lives in the mountains between Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe with her husband, Ray. From the time Beverly started taking snapshots of family to the present she has always loved images. She graduated to better cameras and finally digital ones.
