When we were there some years ago the fog and mist almost obscured the lighthouse, but I took photos anyway. Here is one of my favorites.
According to Wikipedia, “Portland Head Light is a historic lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. The light station sits on a head of land at the entrance of the primary shipping channel into Portland Harbor, which is within Casco Bay in the Gulf of Maine. Completed in 1791, it is the oldest lighthouse in Maine.”
Beverly Read was born and raised in the northern part of California, US. She grew up on a farm and early learned to ride horses and milk cows. In the early 1960's she graduated high school and went on to a year of college before going to work. She married and had two children. Later she lived in other parts of the US, but in 1984 returned to California. She currently lives in the mountains between Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe with her husband, Ray. From the time Beverly started taking snapshots of family to the present she has always loved images. She graduated to better cameras and finally digital ones.
